Roozt.com launched

El Segundo-based Roozt.com, a socially conscious daily deals Web site that has been described as “Groupon meets Toms Shoes,” will be officially launched Monday, Sept. 13.

All products and vendors are certified eco-friendly, ethical, community-conscious and/or humanitarian, so consumers know they are supporting socially responsible businesses while saving 50 to 75 percent every day. In addition, 1 percent of each sale is donated to a charity of the buyer’s choice.

CEO Brent Freeman, who is a USC alum and Hermosa Beach resident, founded Roozt.
